well no one's ever tried to sail out of here before, so. it's more exploratory than anything else and so we aren't really sure what we'll find

though there is a good chance we'll run into the kraken, hence why i've spent the last month building defences for us

And so now you'll be gone. And you don't know when you will return. Or if you'll return. And there's a high risk of danger.

And you see nothing wrong with this?

they could kill me outright and i would still come back for you. i'm coming back.

You don't know that you'll return.

You can't make blanket claims and just expect the universe to work out like that

it's not about the universe, it's about this place
it brings us back when we die.

i'm coming back one way or another.

Has anyone ever sailed out there and died and returned?

yeah there's been two ships that i know of
one was before i was here, it took people out

then there was a ghost ship that people got lured to and lots of them drowned and woke up on the beach

And if you make it out of here and can't return.

you don't think the risk is worth it, to escape from this place?

No, I don't.

And what are you running towards, Nate? You have a life here with people you love. Business, pets, boyfriends. All of these things. Are you planning to bring all these things with you? Do your boyfriends want to come with you? Will you go with them?

What's your goal?

you don't think that matters? we were trapped in hell for so long and all we were trying to do was get out

the people i love, i'd love to keep them with me. it should be their choice, though, they should be able to choose where they go instead of just having this place and its caste system forced on them

Why not stay here and fight the system then than escape?

Will freesom guarantee you any of those things? How does being trapped in their home world grant them the ability to choose? It's just a different prison.

fighting them never gets anywhere, they just squash it all before we can

i have to do something. i have to, i can't just sit back and do what they say and never even try.

Then plan. Study. Attack.

Don't just rush into things without a plan.

we've been planning the ship for months, thorn. they were planning it since before i was even involved.

And the plan for after?

we have to see where we get with this first. we have to see if there's a chance to escape this way at all, or if it's just another dead end.

What do you expect to find? A magic door with a sign that reads 'Back to your world here'?

What if you pass into another dimension without realizing it? What if another demon grabs you again?

What are your contigency plans if there's no door that tells you to turn back before its too late?

anything could happen. any number of things

the point is that if we don't go then we don't know what's possible or what the dangers are

we're never any better off
we're just stuck. always, with no end unless our overlords decide to let us out

and i can't live with that. i just can't.
