but yeah. the runes are your bag, i'd say
he said be careful, they can turn people mad. i reckoned, if i kept my mind in actual hell i'd probably be safe enough

Beware, it could be an effect to make you turn you mad rather than driving you to madness.

when i tried to open portals to take us home before, it didn't work

the spell opened up windows to other worlds. not any of ours. awful places
looking into one of them did something to my mind, i spent a few days seeing things and unsure what was real
and then i was numb for a while
